Maker's Story

RecordBox started the way most good things do, over a beer, with a half-baked idea that turned out to be a great one.

Brett is the craftsman. He built the very first RecordBox by hand and has been refining it ever since.

Jamie is the photographer with a surprisingly dangerous set of manufacturing skills.

And then there's Si — the vinyl obsessive who looked at his record collection one day, decided it deserved better, and asked Brett to build him something. Si is now trusted exclusively with postage. We all have our strengths.

Eighteen months ago we sat down over a few beers and agreed on a simple measure of success: sell enough RecordBoxes to fund a staff Christmas party. Hundreds of RecordBoxes sold and one very good Christmas party later, we're glad we started.

The thing that gets us most is when customers send photos of their RecordBox in their home setup. We get to see the records on display, the rooms they've landed in, the collections they're now part of.

We can say with complete honesty that RecordBox customers have impeccable taste, in storage and in sounds.
